$10,000 Grants for Local Crime Prevention Projects
A new Community Safety Fund grants program has been established to support crime prevention and improve community safety in local areas.
In the first round, councils, community, sporting and business groups can apply for grants up to $10,000 per project to implement practical crime prevention and community safety projects.
Types of projects that may eligible for grants include installing security lighting, padlocks, security screens, fencing, or undertaking awareness activities to deter crime and increase community safety.
The four year Community Safety Funds grants program is part is part of the State Government’s broader $39m Community Crime Prevention Program.
The program acknowledges that local communities are best placed to identify local issues and proposed solutions to address crime prevention and contribute to improved community safety, and provides support for them to do so.
