Equal Opportunity Equals Good Business
The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission has developed a suite of free online tools to help employers understand and comply with their obligations under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.
Under the Act, employers have a positive duty to take reasonable and proportionate measures to eliminate discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation in the workplace as far as possible.
Aimed at small to medium employers, the Right Smart Employers suite of tools include a self-audit tool, which allows employers to assess their equal opportunity compliance and identify where they need to do more.
It also includes a series of downloadable information resources and policy templates to assist employers to manage specific employment issues including:
- Sexual harassment
- Disability and work
- Pregnancy and work
- Mature-age workers
- Returning to work after injury or illness.
For more information or to access the toolkits, visit the Right Smart Employers Toolkits section of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission website.
