Liquor Inspectors To Visit Phillip Island Superbike
Liquor licensees in and around Phillip Island are being reminded to make sure they meet all their licence obligations in the lead up to the Phillip Island Superbike World Championships.
The annual Superbike World Championships from 25–28 February 2011, is a major event for licensees in the area, attracting motor sport enthusiasts from around the state.
Director of Liquor Licensing, Mark Brennan said inspectors from Responsible Alcohol Victoria will be on the look-out for any licensees who may be failing to meet their obligations under the Liquor Control Reform Act, 1998.
“Every licensed venue must adhere to the conditions on their licence, inspectors will be checking for all sorts of breaches, including venues trading outside their licensed hours, serving intoxicated people, overcrowding, and serving alcohol outside the area allowed on their licence.”
Mr Brennan said licensees who fail to comply could expect remedial action and penalties, as breaches can attract fines, disciplinary action or enforceable undertakings.
