Now Open: Entries for the 2011 Fire Awareness Awards
Individuals, community groups and organisations who are making a difference in helping to protect Victoria from fires are invited to have their hard work recognised at this year’s Fire Awareness Awards.
Coordinated by Department of Sustainability and Environment(DSE), Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Services Board (MFB) and the Country Fire Authority(CFA), the awards have been running for over 17 years.
Nominations are open to anyone who has been involved in a project that helps to make Victorians safer from any kind of fire, whether be bushfire related or a building fire.
The awards recognise a range of projects, including safety, awareness, prevention, response and post-fire recovery. The award categories are:
- Community (there are eight types of community awards)
- Education
- Fire services
- Media
- Industry
- Design or construction
- New and emerging technologies
- Government and municipal
