Courts and Tribunals Unit

The Courts and Tribunals Unit is a business unit of the Courts Portfolio within the Department of Justice and its major objective is to support the courts. 

The Courts and Tribunals Unit works to deliver an efficient, responsive and integrated system of courts and tribunals to fulfill the Attorney-General's vision of a high performing justice system.

Activities of the Courts and Tribunals Unit include:

  • overseeing policy and legislative development
  • measuring court performance and analysing statistics
  • implementing the Integrated Courts Management System.

  • Supreme Court of Victoria
  • County Court of Victoria
  • Magistrates' Court of Victoria
  • Children's Court of Victoria
  • Coroners Court of Victoria
  • Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal
  • Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal
  • Judicial College of Victoria
  • Sentencing Advisory Council
  • the Victorian Government Reporting Service.
