Dr Graham Hill, Executive Director, Courts

Graham Hill, Executive Director, Courts, leads and directs the Courts Business Group, and provides a principle reference point for advice to the Secretary, Attorney-General, Ministers and related key stakeholders.

The executive director is responsible for providing comprehensive and integrated support services to the legal, court and dispute resolution system and has responsibility for ensuring the practical realisation of government policy commitments relating to the improvement of community confidence in, and the fair and equitable access to the legal, court and other support services and mechanisms.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Laws
  • Bachelor of Economics

Work history

Dr Hill recently joined the Department of Justice from the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Before joining the public service, Dr Hill spent 14 years as a litigation lawyer in private practice and was a partner at a Melbourne law firm. Earlier in his career, he also worked as an associate to a Federal Court judge.

Career achievements

At the Department of Premier and Cabinet Dr Hill led the secretariat overseeing the introduction of the government’s independent broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission and as executive director of the department’s Government and Corporate division.
