Specialist Family Violence Service - Overview

This document provides information on the Specialist Family Violence Service (SFVS).

The SFVS aims to simplify access to the justice system and enhance safety for aggrieved family members and affected children.

The project builds on services already in place at Magistrates' Court venues by:

• creating a new family violence applicant worker role
• enhancing existing staffing resources at the three sites where the SFVS operates
• providing specialist family violence training to these staff and where necessary 
• changing listing arrangements in order to provide additional courtroom time dedicated to family violence intervention order proceedings
