Responsible Gambling Education

Responsible gambling means knowing the odds and understanding how gambling works. It's about knowing how much time or money to spend and when to stop.

The government is working with the community, industry, employers and employees to promote an environment of responsible gambling and reduce the prevalence and severity of problem gambling.

Major responsible gambling initiatives include:

  • a range of community partnerships, education programs, awareness campaigns and resources (see links below)
  • an annual Responsible Gambling Awareness Week (link is below)
  • the Gamble Aware website provides information about responsible gambling
  • the Take the Quiz website helps you assess whether you or someone you know might have a problem with gambling.
