Managing Prison Sentences

Sentence management is the on-going process of identifying prisoners’ needs and matching them to correctional resources, with the objective of placing and managing prisoners appropriately.

The Sentence Management Manual is the prime document guiding the operation of the sentence management function within Corrections Victoria. The main purpose of the manual is to provide guidance to those who are involved in the sentence management function to ensure the consistent application of the principles enshrined in Corrections Victoria’s Offender Management Framework.
