The report examines national and international research and other relevant literature that deals with issues surrounding the effective management and care of old and ageing offenders in prison and in the community.

An investigation into Hearing Impairment among Indigenous Prisoners in the Victorian Correctional System was commissioned by Corrections Victoria.
The project report by Susan Quinn and Gary Rance from the School of Audiology at the University of Melbourne was completed in August 2006.
In 2003 Corrections Victoria commissioned a review of drug and alcohol treatment systems in Victorian prisons. A literature review found that substance use programs have a strong impact on reducing substance use and rates of reoffending, especially when a mix of treatment programs are provided.
This general health status survey, of the Victorian prisoner population is the first of its kind and the report provides context for the survey and describes the main results.
