Local Aboriginal Justice Action Committee Membership

Membership of each Local Aboriginal Justice Action Committee comprises representatives from the Koori community, Victorian and local government.

Community members

• Youth representative
• Representative of the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service
• Representative from the local Aboriginal Community Justice Program
• Representative from the Family Violence Local Action Group
• Representative from community organisations with justice-related programs
• Local Koori Official Visitor (where available)
• Local Koori Bail Justice (where available)
• Elder or Respected Person from the local Koori Courts (where available).

Government members

• Senior representative from Victims Support Agency
• Senior representative from Infringement Management and Enforcement Services
• Senior representative from Community Correctional Services
• Magistrate or Registrar
• Officer in Charge, Victoria Police
• Manager, Youth Justice and Youth Services, Department of Human Services
• Representative, local government.
