Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee Membership

The core membership for each Regional Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee (RAJAC) comprises a range of senior Koori community and regional government representatives including:

Community Members

  • Chairperson of each of the Local Aboriginal Justice Action Committees in the region
  • Youth representative
  • Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service representative
  • Representative from each of the Aboriginal Community Justice Panels in the region
  • Representative from community organisations with justice-related programs
  • Representative from each of the Family Violence Regional Action Groups in the region
  • Koori Official Prison Visitor (where available)
  • Koori Bail Justice (where available)
  • Elder or Respected Person from each of the Koori Courts in the region (where available).

Government Members

  • Department of Justice Regional Director
  • Department of Human Services Regional Director
  • Local Government representative
  • Magistrate or Registrar
  • Community Correctional Services Location Manager
  • Victoria Police Superintendent
  • Sheriff/Enforcement Management representative
  • Victims Services Manager.

Each RAJAC is serviced by a full-time Executive Officer who manages the day-to-day activities and planning requirements for the committee.
