Welcome to the Department of Justice
The Department of Justice encompasses police; courts; prisons; emergency services; regulation of gaming, racing, liquor licensing and trade measurement; and victims' services. The department's activities also cover the drafting of legislation and the administration of various tribunals and programs to protect citizens' rights.
The Department of Justice covers the ministerial portfolios of Police and Emergency Services, Bushfire Response, Corrections, Crime Prevention, Gaming, Racing, Consumer Affairs and the establishment of an anti-corruption commission.

- Young people in the South Gippsland town of Yarram can now meet, talk and skate in the new Yarram Memorial Skate Park recently opened by Deputy Premier and Minister for Bushfire Response, Peter Ryan.

- Community groups working with offenders to help Victorians in innovative ways have been recognised at the 2011 Corrections Victoria Community Work Partnerships Awards.
