Passing the Check

There are 3 ways you can pass the Working with Children (WWC) Check

  • you do not have any criminal offences or findings from a professional disciplinary body made against you
  • you have a criminal offence or finding from a professional disciplinary body made against you and the department has determined that you should pass the WWC Check
  • you have been given a Negative Notice by the department and have successfully appealed this decision through the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal

Once you have passed the WWC Check, you will receive your WWC Check card in the mail.

Your WWC Check card is valid for five years unless it is revoked or suspended by the Department of Justice or you surrender your WWC Check card.
