Relevant Change in Circumstances

If you hold a Working with Children (WWC) Check card you must inform your employer, agency or volunteer organisation (where relevant) and the Department of Justice in writing, within 7 days of a relevant change in circumstances, such as being charged with or found guilty of a new relevant offence. Refer to the ‘Offences Checklist’ to view the list of relevant offences.

If you have been issued with a Negative Notice you may re-apply for a WWC Check without waiting the required 5-year period if, since the date of the Negative Notice, there has been a relevant change in your circumstances such as a criminal conviction is overturned or you are found not guilty of a relevant charge. The relevant changes in circumstances are set out in section 25(2) of the Working with Children Act 2005.
