Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training

Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training (ICAT) is available to Justice employees in all locations and across all levels of the organisation.

Through the development and delivery of cultural awareness training to staff, the department is able to increase its capacity to deliver justice programs and policies that are responsive and inclusive of the needs of the Koori community.

In 2007, 190 participants from across a range of areas and levels within the department participated in the training, including staff from Corporate Services, Working with Children Check Unit, Corrections Victoria, Neighbourhood Justice Centre, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and various prisons and courts.
