Justice Review - Issue 1, 2009

The first edition of Justice Review for 2009 acknowledges the commitment and generosity of volunteers and staff who responded to Victoria's devastating bushfires. It also reports on the Department of Justice's transition to a regional model, which will improve access to justice services for people living in metropolitan and regional Victoria.

There is news about a new Compliance Directorate to help address alcohol-related violence, the testing of new sanctions for unpaid fines and the opening of Victoria's first County Koori Court. This edition also explores measures to minimise social harm in the area of problem gambling.
