New Problem Gambling Campaign

Family and friends of Victorians with gambling problems are the focus of the State Government’s latest advertising campaign.

The new problem gambling campaign encourages the ‘significant others’ to call Gambler’s Helpline for support and advice on how to help their loved one take control.

Gaming Minister Tony Robinson said the government is “taking action to tackle the personal and social cost of problem gambling and to ensure problem gamblers can access a comprehensive range of support services.”

The statewide campaign is part of the Taking Action on Problem Gambling Strategy to minimise the potential for gambling-related harm on the Victorian community.

“Campaigns communicate positive messages to problem gamblers and those affected by gambling that it is possible to take control of gambling and about the range of support services available in Victoria, encouraging problem gamblers and their families and friends to seek the help they need,” Mr Robinson said.

The campaign will feature television, radio, in venue, online and newspaper advertising.

The national Gambler’s Helpline number is 1800 858 858.
