Courts and Tribunals Unit

The Courts and Tribunals Unit is a business unit of the Courts Division within the Department of Justice and its major objective is to support the courts. The Courts and Tribunals Unit works to deliver an efficient, responsive and integrated system of courts and tribunals to fulfill the Attorney-General's vision of a high performing justice system.

Activities of the Courts and Tribunals Unit include:

  • overseeing policy and legislative development
  • giving budgetary advice
  • providing employee and industrial relations representation
  • measuring court performance and analysing statistics
  • implementing the Integrated Courts Management System
  • managing capital works so that court buildings and facilities are accessible, functional and secure.
