Julia Griffith, Executive Director, Regional and Executive Services

Ms Griffith, Executive Director, Regional and Executive Services, is responsible for ensuring that corporate functions across all areas of the department work efficiently to enable the delivery of a high performing justice system. Regional and Executive Services provides an integrated service delivery approach to support the Department of Justice deliver on its corporate objectives and statutory obligations.

Qualification

  • Bachelor of Arts (Youth Affairs)
  • Diploma (Youth Work)

Work history

Ms Griffith has extensive experience in the Victorian Public Service in senior management, particularly in the areas of employment, human services and justice.

Ms Griffith has been involved in managing Victoria's juvenile justice system, monitoring the state's correctional services and redeveloping its child protection placement and support services. More recently Ms Griffith has had responsibility for the establishment of the Working With Children Check unit and the implementation of the government’s Fairer and Firmer Fines strategy.

During her career Ms Griffith has also been responsible for implementing the Victorian Government's employment programs focussing on assisting the most disadvantaged job seekers in our community. She has been a key driver in the formulation of employment policies and the development of initiatives to address skills shortages.

Her successful career includes a strong background in youth work, research, training, community development and in the private sector.
