Our Values

With over 5,000 staff, the Department of Justice has more than 50 business units and service agencies across Victoria. The common purpose of the department is to assist the Government achieve its vision of a safe and just Victoria.

Working with its Statutory partners, stakeholder groups and volunteers the department delivers an extensive and varied range of services across its portfolio areas of law, policing, corrections, emergency services, the courts, consumer protection and through the regulation of gaming.

In an organisation as diverse as the Department of Justice values are one way we can unite our collective vision and direction for the future...

Staff from across the department have worked together to develop a set of corporate values which capture the essence of who we are and, just as importantly, what we aspire to be. These values play a critical role in creating a workplace which staff enjoy and where they feel valued.

The 'One Justice' values strongly shape and influence ongoing training and development, performance planning, recruitment and relationships with stakeholders.
