Disability Action Plan 2009-2011
The new Department of Justice Disability Action Plan 2009-2011 outlines 65 key strategies that aim to improve access and promote inclusion for people with disabilities in Victoria. The strategies include conducting access appraisals of the Department’s buildings and facilities to improve physical access for people with a disability, and the Justice Mental Health Strategy.
Within the Department, the plan will promote flexible working arrangements for employees with a disability and staff with caring responsibilities, as well as providing a mentoring program to support employees with a disability.
The plan also includes updating the Consumer Affairs Victoria website with information that is accessible and relevant to people with a disability.
The new plan builds on the successes of the Justice Disability Action Plan 2005-2008.
