Trade Measurement

All goods sold by measurement in Victoria must be accurately measured and priced. Owners of measuring instruments used for trade are responsible for their accuracy and correct usage. Packers and importers must ensure the measurements and labelling of packages are correct. Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) appoints licensees to certify measuring instruments, and inspectors to monitor the accuracy of instruments and packages.
