Community Safety

The Victorian Government is committed to providing a safe community for all Victorians and supports this through a range of services.

This section includes information on:

• groups that may feel more vulnerable in our community such as the elderly, children, women and multicultural communities
• how the Department of Justice is able to deal with emergencies, including emergency planning, emergency communications, and responding to emergencies
• fire safety, road safety and water safety
• firearms and weapons, including controlled and prohibited weapons
• regulation of the private security industry.
