Research Strategy Mission Statement
The Office of the Emergency Services Commissioner (OESC) is committed to supporting the development of evidence based policy and responding to the challenges faced by the emergency management sector. OESC's research and project work emphasises the value of research which is part of inter-agency partnerships, reflects common goals and encourages knowledge development.
Research Strategy Goals
OESC research initiatives aim to:
- respond to policy initiatives, changes and inquiries impacting on the emergency management sector
- build knowledge and application of research evaluation methodology
- build a range of research partnerships from within and external to the emergency management sector
- identify and encourage the development and utilisation of research funding and resource and the facilitation of cross-agency and collaborative research projects and activities
- build links between database development and associated technology and applied research practices.
