Victorians are being inundated with more products and services than ever before, so it's important that consumers know their rights, their responsibilities and who to contact when dealing with businesses and buying products in Victoria.

Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) is responsible for looking after consumer rights, and the CAV website provides important information on:

• buying and selling cars and property
• renting a house, flat, or building
• managing credit and debt
• shopping over the internet
• fundraising
• any current consumer scams and how to avoid them.
