Children's Court of Victoria
The Children's Court of Victoria was established under the Children and Young Persons Act 1989 as a specialist court with two divisions to deal with matters relating to children and young people.
Family Division
The Family Division of the Children's Court hears:
- applications relating to the protection and care of children and young persons at risk
- applications for intervention orders.
Criminal Division
The Criminal Division of the Children's Court hears:
- matters relating to criminal offending by children and young persons.
