Attorney-General's Guidelines to the Infringements Act 2006
The purpose of the Attorney-General's Guidelines to the Infringement Act 2006 is to:
- assist enforcement agencies (as defined in section 3 of the Act) in meeting their responsibilities for issuing infringement notices for offences and for the enforcement of infringement notices
- set out the policy outlining what is appropriate to be dealt with by way of infringement and how that policy should be applied by agencies seeking to make new offences infringeable.
