Crown Casino Agreement
On 12 May 2009, the Treasurer on behalf of the State of Victoria entered into an agreement with the casino licensee, Crown Melbourne Limited (Crown). Under the new agreement, the Victorian Government and Crown have committed to allow for an increase in the tax paid on revenue from gaming machines at the Melbourne casino. The agreement also allows for an increase in the maximum number of gaming tables that are permitted to operate at the casino.
