Cross-Border Betting Taskforce
Growth in cross-border racing betting with bookmakers has led to concerns on the part of the national racing industry that its critical revenue sources from wagering are under threat – particularly in the long term. Industry fears centre on the diversion of wagering turnover from operators in the States responsible for most higher-level national racing product. The Cross-Border Betting Taskforce report concerns the future of the Australian racing industry. The taskforce itself was formed due to concerns voiced by several Racing Ministers.
