A Study of Gambling in Victoria - Problem Gambling from a Public Health Perspective

This study was funded through the Victorian Government’s Taking Action on Problem Gambling commitment.

This report presents findings of a study of the epidemiology of problem gambling in Victoria. Epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of health related states or events in specified populations, and the application of this study to control health problems.

This study takes a very different approach to examining problem gambling in Victoria. Unlike past studies, this study examined gambling patterns in the community from a population health perspective and is the largest ever study on gambling undertaken in Victoria.
