Best Practice in Problem Gambling Services 2003
Released in June 2003, this study analysed overseas and Australian research on successful problem gambling interventions.
The study also undertook a review of Gambler's Help in Victoria and describes its strength as its ability to provide a range of services for problem gamblers and their families and through its community education program.
The purpose of the research was to also:
- consider a range of dimensions of service provision
- gain insight into service provision for third parties affected by problem gambling
- identify innovative, effective and culturally sensitive models of service delivery.
The report also includes information in the following areas:
- problem gambling intervention models
- conceptualising and measuring therapeutic effectiveness
- treatment outcome studies.
