About Responsible Gambling Awareness Week

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week aims to ensure that Victorians who gamble do so responsibly and stay in control at all times.

Responsible gambling is about minimising harm caused by excessive gambling while accommodating those who gamble without harming themselves or others.

The Week seeks to educate and encourage Victorians who gamble in one form, or another, not to let it control their lives and to approach gambling as a purely recreational activity.

RGAW is consistent with the government’s $132m commitment over five years to fund initiatives aimed at making gambling safe and promoting services available for those people whose gambling is not under control.
