Getting there
By road
Tarrengower Prison is approximately 136km from Melbourne and takes two hours by car.
Follow the Bendigo signs along the Calder Highway through the township of Taradale. Take the Castlemaine exit about 4.5kms past Taradale.
Travel through Castlemaine following the signs to Maldon. Tarrengower is 3kms from the Maldon Post Office along the Maryborough Road.
By public transport
The train leaves Southern Cross Station, Melbourne and takes two hours to reach Castlemaine. Trains to Castlemaine are frequent during the week and on Saturdays and Sundays there are several trains per day. Always confirm timetables with V/Line before you travel.
There is a bus which travels from Castlemaine Station to Maldon on a daily basis. Taxis are available from Castlemaine to Maldon and cost about $25 each way.
