Benchmarking Study of Home Detention Programs in Australia and New Zealand

Report to the National Corrections Advisory Group by Dr. Monika Henderson, June 2006

This report presents the results of a study of the range of Home Detention programs operated by corrective services in Australia (New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, the Australian Capital Territory, the Northern Territory) and New Zealand. The study compared key features of the Home Detention programs, including program objectives, scope of application and eligibility criteria, legislation, policy and procedures. The report was prepared in 2006 by Dr. Monika Henderson on behalf of the National Corrections Advisory Group.
