Home Detention in Victoria - Final Evaluation Report
The Victorian Home Detention Pilot Program commenced in November 2004 after amendments to the Sentencing Act 1991 and the Corrections Act 1986 provided for home detention to be both a sentencing option by the courts (‘front end’), and a pre-release option for prisoners (‘back end’).
This final evaluation report into the program by the Melbourne Centre for Criminological Research and Evaluation provides key findings and a number of recommendations to inform and support program development.
