Dispute Resolution
Victorians engage with a diverse range of communities in a variety of roles on a daily basis. We belong to neighbourhoods, school communities, families, workplaces, clubs and organisations, and we buy all kinds of goods and services. While these relationships usually work harmoniously, from time to time there may be an issue that results in a dispute between the parties involved.
All disputes can be stressful and potentially costly. The Department of Justice is committed to making available a wide range of dispute resolution services that give parties the opportunity to work towards reaching some form of agreement without resorting to the courts.
This section contains information regarding options to help you resolve particular types of disputes, for example noise disputes. You can also access the appropriate services for people who have a first language other than English on the Multilingual Publications page.
