Victims Register - How Do I Request Registration?

To apply for placement on the Victims Register you must complete an application form and lodge it with the Registrar of the Victims Register.

The application form is available for download here, or call 1800 819 817 and ask for the Victims Register Co-ordinator. The Victims Register Application Form outlines all the documentation you need to submit according to which provision you are applying under.

How long can I remain on the Victims Register?

Once the prisoner/offender has served the sentence and any period of extended supervision, your registration will lapse. Your registration will not entitle you to information regarding any subsequent sentence of imprisonment imposed on the prisoner/offender.

There are a number of other circumstances in which you may be removed from the register, including where:

• you make a written request to be removed
• the prisoner is transferred interstate or overseas
• confidentiality provisions have been breached.
