Call for Submissions

Have your say on the options for reform to the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act 1995.

An options paper has been released for public consultation. The equal opportunity review seeks your response to the options paper and the questions that it raises about the future scope of the Equal Opportunity Act 1995; the powers to prevent discrimination and enforce the law; the resolution of discrimination complaints; and how the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission is governed.

This options paper and large print and easy read versions of the options paper, are available online. If you need any assistance to prepare a submission or an interpreter or alternative formats for the options paper, please contact the Equal Opportunity Review Team.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 16 May 2008.

Submissions received after this date cannot be considered because the terms of reference require the Reviewer to submit his final report to the Attorney-General by June 2008.

The preferred method for receiving submissions is electronically, by email in word format without embedded images. Submissions can also be mailed or faxed.

Submissions are public documents

Unless you clearly request confidentiality, submissions are public documents and may be accessed by any member of the public, may be published on the website and quoted in further review papers. If you would like your submission to not be published, or you would like to request anonymity, you must clearly request this in your submission.
