Victorian Implementation Review of Recommendations from the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody - Review Report Volume 1

The purpose of this review was to evaluate the progress of how effectively the related government departments and agencies were implementing the 339 commission recommendations. The review provides a summary of the self-assessment responses received by the departments and agencies, together with a summary of the views and experiences of the Indigenous community.

This first volume of the review report covers the following:

• background to the implementation review
• how the Victorian implementation review was conducted
• Victorian Aboriginal deaths in custody
• findings on underlying issues
• findings on over-representation in the criminal justice system
• findings on monitoring implementation
