Feedback - Complaints and Comments

The Department of Justice welcomes your feedback about our services. We are committed to responding to your views and concerns effectively. Please note, some areas of the department have specific feedback processes; see the information below for details of these.

How to give your feedback

Complete the Department of Justice Online Feedback Form (in the menu on the right) or print and send the PDF form to the address below.

You do not have to provide your contact details unless you want a response to your feedback. Any information you provide will primarily be used to respond to your feedback and to improve our services.

Should you require assistance to give your feedback, call 1800 365 100 (toll free). Please note that this is not a general information line; for general enquiries call the department on 03 8684 0000, or 1300 365 111 if you are in a regional area.

Providing feedback in other languages

If you require the assistance of an interpreter, please call the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) National on 131 450 and ask to speak with the Department of Justice on 1800 365 100.

What you can expect

  1. We will send an acknowledgement in writing of receipt of your feedback within three business days.
  2. If your feedback requires a response we will either telephone you or write to you within 20 business days.
  3. Acknowledgement of and response to your feedback may take longer if translation is required.
