Passing the Check
There are three ways you can pass the Working with Children (WWC) Check
- you do not have any criminal offences or findings from a professional disciplinary body made against you
- you have a criminal offence or finding from a professional disciplinary body made against you and the department has determined that you should pass the WWC Check
- you have been given a Negative Notice by the department and have successfully appealed this decision at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal
Once you have passed the WWC Check, you will receive your Assessment Notice in the mail, followed by your WWC Check card two to three weeks later.
Your WWC Check is valid for five years unless it is revoked by the Department of Justice or you surrender your Assessment Notice and WWC Check card.
