Parents
Parents need to be aware of the Working with Children (WWC) Check because it also applies to self-employed people who undertake ‘child-related work’, for example if you hire someone to teach your child a musical instrument.
If you engage a self-employed person who is required to pass the WWC Check, you should ask to see the person’s WWC Check card. You can check its status to be satisfied that the person’s circumstances have not changed since he or she passed the WWC Check. This can be done on this website or by calling the WWC Check Information Line.
