Young People
Drinking can be more dangerous for younger people than for other members of the community. In general, younger drinkers:
- are less experienced with alcohol and may not fully understand its effects
- have a reduced capacity to manage their drinking
- may be more susceptible to peer group pressure
- are more likely to engage in other high-risk behaviour.
The combination of these factors can put them at increased risk of alcohol-related injury and accidental death.
