The Workplace Incidents Consultative Committee (WICC) is enshrined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and the Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Workplace Incidents Consultative Committee) Regulations 2020.
The Victorian Government is seeking expressions of interest from Victorians affected by a workplace incident involving death, serious injury or illness to join the inaugural WICC.
The WICC gives members with lived experience an opportunity to contribute and drive improvements in health and safety at Victorian workplaces.
Members of the WICC will advise the Minister for Workplace Safety about how to better support those affected by serious workplace incidents. They will recommend system improvements, new programs and services, and ways to prevent serious workplace incidents from occurring.
The WICC will receive $4 million in funding over four years. Funding will be used to put its recommendations in practice and improve Victorian occupational health and safety.
There are 8-15 positions on the committee. Terms are three years, with the first term commencing in early 2021. Representatives will be paid for their time.
We encourage eligible candidates to apply by filling out the application form attached to the Expression of Interest .
Applicants have until midnight, Sunday 22 November, to complete the application form and send it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org .
