On 26 January 2021 four staff members received awards recognising their distinguished service as part of the 2021 Australia Day Honours.

Public Service Medal
The Public Service Medal recognises outstanding excellence, leadership and innovation by employees from each of the four levels of government.
Karyn Myers - Director, Custodial Operations Standards and Quality of Care, Youth Justice
Karyn has worked across Youth Justice for over 15 years and in that time led her team through significant reforms. She has made an outstanding contribution to improving services and care for vulnerable children and young people in custody.
Australian Corrections Medal
The Australian Corrections Medal is awarded for distinguished service by an operational member of an Australian state or territory civilian correctional service for adults.
Robert McAdie - Industry Manager, Hopkins Correctional Centre
Robert has served Corrections Victoria for over 28 years, joining the department as an Industry Officer in 1992. Since 2014, Robert has seen a large expansion of the Industry department at HCC. This has resulted in improved outcomes for prisoners and stronger community engagement.
Melissa Westin - Deputy Commissioner, Custodial Operations
During her 20 years with Corrections Victoria, Melissa has been influential in a number of areas, including the expansion of the Security and Intelligence Division and introducing a vocational services model across Victoria's women's prison system.
Suzanne Skrabl- Specialist Case Supervisor, Hopkins Correctional Centre
Suzanne has served Corrections Victoria for 17 years and, in that time, has been vital to developments in caring for ageing prisoners, prisoners with disability, and also for transgender prisoners.
