Victorian Law Week is a state-wide program of events to improve Victorians’ understanding of the law and legal system.

It’s an opportunity to better understand your rights, find legal answers to everyday problems, get legal help and learn more about the law.

While Victorian Law Week is a national initiative, it's run separately in each state. In Victoria, it is managed by Victoria Law Foundation (External link)

This year’s program ran from 15 to 21 May and included more than 200 events across Melbourne, regional Victoria and online. Events included:

  • topical panel discussions
  • interviews with experts
  • sessions offering free legal advice and information.

There are recordings available for many of the online events. View the online program (External link) to catch up on anything you missed.

Events and activities were run by a variety of organisations, including:

  • community legal centres
  • community organisations
  • government bodies
  • law firms
  • courts and tribunals.
