Welcome to the Department of Justice
The Department of Justice encompasses police; courts; prisons; emergency services; regulation of gaming, racing, liquor licensing and trade measurement; and victims' services. The department's activities also cover the drafting of legislation and the administration of various tribunals and programs to protect citizens' rights.
The Department of Justice covers the ministerial portfolios of Police and Emergency Services, Bushfire Response, Corrections, Crime Prevention, Gaming, Racing, Consumer Affairs and the establishment of an anti-corruption commission.

- A bumper crowd is expected to go all Green and Gold at Kyneton Racecourse on Australia Day (26 January), thanks to the support of $12,000 from the Victorian Government.

- The 10,000 Victorians who signed up to slow down on the roads this summer, have been officially applauded for showing their commitment to road safety at the MCG.
