Welcome to the Department of Justice
The Department of Justice encompasses police; courts; prisons; emergency services; regulation of gaming, racing, liquor licensing and trade measurement; and victims' services. The department's activities also cover the drafting of legislation and the administration of various tribunals and programs to protect citizens' rights.
The Department of Justice covers the ministerial portfolios of Police and Emergency Services, Bushfire Response, Corrections, Crime Prevention, Gaming, Racing, Consumer Affairs and the establishment of an anti-corruption commission.

- Victorians will have the opportunity to voluntarily stand before a County Court judge or inside a Supreme Court dungeon during an exciting calendar of events for Victorian Law Week 2012.

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week 2012 to Focus on Young People
- The seventh annual Responsible Gambling Awareness Week will begin on Monday 14 May 2012, with a range of activities and events promoting the responsible gambling message throughout Victoria.
