Specific matters considered
LGBTIQ+ legal service update
A representative from the Department of Justice and Community Safety provided an update on the establishment of an LGBTIQ+ legal service in the Victorian Pride Centre.
Key government reforms
Representatives from the Department of Justice and Community Safety provided updates on:
- Reforms to the Adoption Act 1984
- Reforms relating to the Victorian Law Reform Commission’s report on Improving the Justice System Response to Sexual Offences, including affirmative consent laws.
Rainbow Tick Accreditation
A Department of Justice and Community Safety representative from the Victim Support Services and Reform unit provided an update on the Rainbow Tick Accreditation process. The unit is the first area of a Victorian Government department to achieve Rainbow Tick Accreditation.
Youth Justice update
A Department Justice and Community Safety representative provided an update on the key activities of the Youth Justice portfolio.
